KMH Cargo Customer Policy

Our comprehensive framework for import and export operations, ensuring transparency, security, and reliability for all our customers worldwide.

1. Import Policy

Goods coming into Nigeria

a. Booking & Documentation

  • Customers must provide accurate information about the shipment: type of goods, quantity, weight, dimensions, and value.
  • Required documents include commercial invoice, packing list, and any applicable permits or certificates.
  • KMH Cargo reserves the right to request additional documents if necessary for customs clearance.

b. Shipping & Handling

  • Customers should ensure items are properly packed. KMH Cargo is not liable for damages caused by improper packaging.
  • Hazardous or prohibited items (e.g., explosives, flammable goods, illegal substances) are strictly forbidden.
  • Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary due to customs processing, weather, or other logistical factors.

c. Customs Clearance

  • All import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the responsibility of the customer.
  • KMH Cargo will assist with customs procedures but cannot be held liable for fines, delays, or seizure due to incorrect documentation or prohibited items.

d. Payment Policy

  • Payment for import shipments must be made before shipment 🚚
  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, USSD/mobile banking, or verified online payments.
  • Any additional fees (customs, storage, demurrage) must be settled before the goods are delivered.

e. Refund Policy

  • Refunds are only applicable if the shipment is canceled before dispatch or if KMH Cargo fails to deliver due to internal error.
  • Claims for refund must be submitted within 7 days of payment.
  • Refunds exclude any bank transfer charges or external processing fees.
  • KMH Cargo is not liable for refunds caused by customs delays, import restrictions, or incorrect documentation provided by the customer.

f. Claims & Compensation

  • Any damage or loss must be reported within 48 hours of receiving the shipment.
  • Claims require supporting documents, such as photos, invoices, or proof of value.
  • KMH Cargo’s liability is limited to the declared value of the shipment.

2. Export Policy

Goods leaving Nigeria

a. Booking & Documentation

  • Customers must provide correct shipment details and declare the value of the goods.
  • Required export documents include commercial invoice, packing list, export permits (if applicable), and any recipient documents requested by the destination country.

b. Shipping & Handling

  • Items must be securely packaged to withstand transport. KMH Cargo is not responsible for damage caused by weak or improper packaging.
  • Prohibited exports include illegal items, weapons, hazardous substances, and restricted goods as per Nigerian or destination country regulations.

c. Customs & Legal Compliance

  • Customers are responsible for ensuring their shipments comply with both Nigerian export laws and destination country import regulations.
  • KMH Cargo will support customs clearance but is not liable for penalties, fines, or confiscation due to incorrect documentation or illegal shipments.

d. Payment Policy

  • Payment for exports must be made in full at the time of booking or as agreed in advance.
  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, USSD/mobile banking, or verified online payment.
  • KMH Cargo may withhold shipment until payment is confirmed.
  • Additional charges (special handling, packaging, insurance) must be paid before dispatch.

e. Refund Policy

  • Refunds are applicable only if shipments are canceled before pickup or dispatch or if KMH Cargo fails to ship due to internal error.
  • Refund requests must be made within 10 working days of payment confirmation.
  • No refunds will be issued for shipment delays caused by customs, destination regulations, or customer-provided incorrect information.

f. Delivery & Claims

  • Estimated delivery times are provided but may vary due to customs, logistics, or other unforeseen events.
  • Any damage or loss during transit must be reported within 48 hours of delivery at the destination.
  • Liability is limited to the declared value of the shipment, and compensation will be processed once a valid claim is submitted.
